Floor by floor, how a visit goes

Stoop and stairs
A walk-up starts at the bottom. The runner on the stairs wears grey down the middle of every tread, so steps and landings are cleaned and counted one by one instead of guessed at by the square foot.
Parlour
The parlour carpet gets slow, overlapping hot-water passes, then the pile is groomed one way so it dries even. Carpets usually dry within 4 to 6 hours, so the room is yours again the same day.
Wash floor
A rug that is too heavy for the stairs leaves with us. Pickup and delivery are free, the rug is washed flat and it comes home dry.
Basement
Water emergencies are the one job with no appointment. We answer the phone 24/7 when a pipe lets go, and the wet carpet stays where it is until we get there.
