Water damage, 24/7
Water damage restoration in Brooklyn, any hour
Floods, burst pipes and fire-hose water. Extraction first, then air movers and dehumidifiers, with moisture readings until the floor is dry.
Chapter 01
The first hours decide the damage
Water does not stay where it lands. In a Brooklyn brownstone or a Queens basement it wicks up drywall and baseboards, soaks the carpet pad and runs down to the subfloor. A flood, a burst pipe and water from a fire hose all behave alike: the longer it sits, the further it travels.
Carpet looks like the problem, but the pad underneath holds most of the water, the way a sponge sits under a wet tablecloth. A carpet that only feels damp on top can still be soaked an inch below it.
If water is coming in right now, call (888) 919-2393. Emergency water restoration is available 24/7, floods and fire included, across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, the Bronx, Long Island and Westchester.

Extraction, drying, then readings
We start by pulling standing water out with extraction gear, then decide what can stay. Sometimes the carpet can be saved while the pad can't, and a pad that is holding water gets pulled so the floor under it can dry.
Next come the air movers and dehumidifiers. The air movers push dry air across the wet surface, and the dehumidifier takes the moisture out of the room so it doesn't simply settle into the next wall. Those orange fans are the loud part of the job.
We check moisture readings in the carpet, the subfloor and the lower wall, and we keep drying until the readings come back to normal, not until the surface merely feels dry to the hand.
Chapter 03
Why speed matters for mold
Wet building materials grow mold if they stay wet long enough, and it hides well in the pad, behind baseboards and inside wall cavities. The sooner the water comes out and the air starts moving, the less there is to tear out later.
Call (888) 919-2393 day or night and leave the wet carpet where it is until we have seen it. Estimates are free, and we'll tell you plainly whether the carpet can be saved or the pad has to go.

Emergency water restoration, floods and fire
Before we get there
Four things you can do while we're on the way. If the water has been sitting a while, ask us about mold remediation and disinfecting, or send us the details when it's calm.
- 01
Shut the water off
Close the fixture valve or the main so nothing new reaches the floor. If you can't find it, say so on the phone and we'll talk you through where to look.
- 02
Lift furniture off wet carpet
Sofas, dressers and bed frames bleed stain and finish into wet fibre. Get legs up onto foil, plastic or blocks, or move the piece to a dry room.
- 03
Leave the wet carpet where it is
Don't pull it up and don't run a household vacuum over it. We read the carpet, the pad and the subfloor in place before deciding what stays.
- 04
Stay out of the danger rooms
If water is near outlets, or a ceiling is sagging and dripping, keep out of that room until it has been looked at.
