Wall-to-wall carpet

Brooklyn carpet cleaning that reaches the pad, not just the pile

Hot-water extraction in slow, overlapping passes. Stairs, hallways and parlour floors, usually dry within 4 to 6 hours.

Chapter 01

What wears a Brooklyn carpet down

Carpet in a Brooklyn walk-up does not wear evenly. It goes grey in lanes: down the middle of every stair tread, along the hallway from the front door to the kitchen, and across the parlour threshold where everyone turns. The pile in those lanes is crushed flat and holds most of the soil in the building.

Oily soil is the second culprit. Cooking film, street grime carried in on shoes and skin oil leave a sticky layer on the fibre, and sticky fibre grabs the next round of dust faster than clean fibre does. A carpet that is rinsed too lightly can look dingy again within weeks for exactly that reason.

We clean wall-to-wall carpet in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, the Bronx, Long Island and Westchester, seven days a week. Call (888) 919-2393 and tell us the rooms, the stairs and the hallways. The estimate is free.

How the extraction pass works

Every job starts with a pre-spray that loosens the oily film, followed by a hot-water rinse pulled straight back out of the pile. We work in slow, overlapping wand strokes so no lane is rinsed once and skipped, and the dirty water goes into the tank instead of down into the pad.

Fibre decides the settings. Wool wants lower heat and a gentler pH than nylon, because hot, strongly alkaline water can shift wool dyes and rough up the fibre surface. We look at what is underfoot before the wand comes out of the case.

Then the pile is groomed in one direction so it dries even and stands back up. Carpets usually dry within 4 to 6 hours, and an open window or a fan on the floor shortens that. Free maintenance tips come with the visit, and the work is covered by our zero-damage policy.

Chapter 03

The rate card, line by line

Wall-to-wall is $95 for rooms up to 250 sq. ft. A larger area is priced at $0.75 per sq. ft., so a long through-room is measured rather than rounded up to a guess. Basements are charged per sq. ft. as well.

Stairs are $9 per step, hallways $75, landings $45, which is how a walk-up really gets cleaned: one flight, one landing and one hallway at a time. Clean several rooms in the same visit and the discount for multiple rooms applies.

Estimates are free, and the full card is set out below as a drawing of the building it prices.

What to book alongside it

If the floor is clean but the rug in the corner is not, area rug cleaning comes with free pickup and delivery. A sun-faded strip at the window is a job for carpet dyeing, and anything you are unsure about can go through the contact page.
